India car manufacturer Tata Motors will debut in premium hatchback segment with Altroz. Initially exhibited as concept 45X at Auto Expo 2018, the car
will also be major highlight at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show 2019.
In the middle of 2019 the Baleno competitor will be rolled out for local market.

As the Tata
Motors sets out to leverage one of the fastest growing segments, we list tops
five features of upcoming hatchback for you.
1. New Turf: It would be interesting to see, how Tata will price Altroz
along with features it has to offer.
Tata Motors would be entering the
highly competitive B-segment or premium hatchback segment which is ruled by
Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Hyundai Elite i20 claiming 85
percent of the segment share. Till now, no other carmaker has been able to
crack the segment.

2. New Platform: The Altorz will be the first product to be built upon
new platform ALFA (Agile Light Flexible Advanced) inspired by magnificent bird
"Albatross", On this platform,
Tata Motors is also planning to introduce a mid-size sedan and next-generation
Tiago, Tigor and Nexon.
3. Engine: The premium hatchback Altroz will enter in the market with two
petrol engines and one diesel engine which includes a 1.2 litre, 3-cylinder
engine which powers Tiago and a 1.2 lite 3-cylinder turbocharged engine that
powers Nexon. While the diesel variant will be powered by a 1.5-liter
turbocharged engine.
4. Design: Based on IMPACT 2.0 design and styling, Altroz is expected to have
aerodynamic look with slim LED headlamps similar to Harrier. Moreover, it will
boast a stylish lower grille, chrome finisher at the rear and LED tail lamps.
It will also come with 16-inch alloy wheels.
5. Safety: Tata Altorz will have a host of safety features like driver and
co-drover airbags, ABS with EBD, park assist with rear sensors and camera.
Apart from this, it will have driver and co-driver seatbelt reminder and ISOFIX
child-seat anchorage, complying to new safety norms.
